How the games train your business English
Every word in the vocabulary game comes from a real dialogue: from the episodes of our business English podcast, which play through meetings, negotiations, phone calls and job interviews. So you are not practising textbook lists, but the words that actually go missing in German offices the moment a conversation switches to English.
Word Shake trains the other direction: instead of recognising meanings, you actively retrieve words from memory — under time pressure, as in a real conversation. Three minutes per round fits a coffee break, and the brick tower shows at a glance how productive the round was.

Games FAQ
How does the vocabulary game work?
Each round has five questions: word questions offering two meanings to choose from, and picture questions asking you to match the right image to an English term. Each correct answer scores 200 points, and after every answer the solution is shown. Two flawless rounds in a row move you up a level, from B1 through B2 to C1.
How does Word Shake work?
You get 16 letters and 3 minutes. Tap letters and confirm with Enter to build English words of three letters or more. Longer words score more points, and every word you find stacks a brick onto your score tower. Words are checked against an English dictionary of over 115,000 entries.
Where does the vocabulary come from?
All terms in the vocabulary game come from the Simmonds business English podcast: over 680 words and phrases from real dialogues about meetings, negotiations, phone calls and emails, each with its meaning and an example sentence. The pool grows with every new podcast episode.
Which level are the games suitable for?
The vocabulary game covers levels B1 to C1 and gets harder from round to round. Word Shake works at any level: beginners build short words, advanced learners hunt for the long ones. If you are below B1, treat the games as a target.
Are the games free?
Yes. Both games are free to play, with no account and no registration. Scores and personal bests are stored only locally in your browser.
